ROB HARGETT
Attorney and Mediator"Mediation allows parties to negotiate their differences with dignity in a confidential environment they control. A mediator who is patient, practical and persistent can almost always help find the common ground necessary to resolve any dispute. "
—Rob HargettExperience
Rob Hargett decided to become a mediator because he believes the best mediators are lawyers with significant courtroom experience. Mediation Options
We offer full-day, half-day, and three-hour (family law only) mediations in our Austin, Texas, offices or at other sites mutually agreed upon by the parties. Virtual mediations are also available.
Full-day mediations begin at 9:30 a.m. They include lunch in the office and continue until completed. Usually, full-day mediations end by 5:30 p.m.; however, a mediation session may extend beyond that. An additional hourly fee may be charged for mediations lasting longer than eight hours. Resolving the dispute before the end of the day will not result in any refunds being issued.
Half-day mediations begin at 9:00 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. If a scheduled half-day mediation exceeds the allotted four hours, an additional hourly fee may be charged to each party.
In certain Family Law cases, but only when the parties are represented by counsel, a three-hour session is an option. Cases that are well-suited for this category include those that only require a short, block time commitment to finalize a divorce, work out Temporary Orders or satisfy an obligation to mediate. If a scheduled three-hour session exceeds that time limit, an additional hourly fee may be charged to each party.
Some cases may necessitate more than one mediation day. Subsequent sessions should be scheduled by mutual consent. If the parties initially ask that more than one mediation day be reserved, the full fee for all scheduled sessions is due on the first day of mediation.
Weekends may also be available for mediation if requested by the parties or required due to scheduling issues. If the mediation session occurs on a weekend and is held in our offices, an additional charge of $200 to $400 will be allocated among the parties.
Fees
All parties represented by the same attorney are considered a single "party" for purposes of the mediation fee. Payment of the mediation fee should be made within ten (10) days of the date the mediation is scheduled, but no later than the start of the mediation.
Full Day – Per Party: $1,600.00
Half Day – Per Party: $700.00
Three-Hour Session (Family Law Only) – Per Party: $600.00
If the mediation is scheduled at a location more than 100 miles from Austin, there will be an additional charge of $150.00 per party to cover travel time and expenses.
All parties' fee payments may be in the form of a cashier's check or check drawn on the bank account of a law firm, insurance company, or corporate/business account and made payable to Hargett Mediation, LLC. A W-9 will be provided upon request.
The daily fee includes:
Scheduling and administering the session;
Any pre-mediation attorney conferences;
Preparing for and conducting the mediation;
Facilitating any post-mediation communications;
Refreshments for all present; and
Lunch for all present (full day only).
